Atlanta Photography Group Show November 23 - January 18

This group show includes two portraits, something I don’t do as much as I could. These are both taken on ranches using natural light of the people who are directly involved with the care and movement of the herds they are in charge of. There will be a juror talk at 5 pm on the opening night ( November 23, 2019) by Same Gerace of the Booth Western Art Museum. I don’t typically do a lot of art featuring the people of the west but the equine work I make is always dependent on the people behind the scenes who manage the horses, they are always kind, hard working, salt of the earth people.

The out takes of the horses getting a treat became more interesting to me. Most horses are very food driven so treats and sounds are often used to try to get them to ‘pose’ as they are not like dogs who will sit and stay on command! I love the lips, extreme stretches and curiosity they exhibit.
