Book Recommendation

“Chad Hanson has written a wonderful book exploring his fascination with the wild horses of the American West, taking readers on a journey inside the lives of these magnificent animals and the wild places where they still live. Weaving together sociology, ecology, and history, Hanson explores the importance of a reverence for nature to human psychology, why wild horses inspire awe, and why saving them is essential to preserving the last vestiges of all that is wild in the West. An excellent read!”

Summer News

Greetings from the road! As we speak I am on a road trip to exhibit my work at the Santa Fe Art Fair, July 15-1 7. Our truck is loaded with art and I am thrilled to be back in New Mexico for a few days. I spent time here in college at the University of New Mexico. Many of my weekends were spent in Santa Fe. It feels good to be back in the unique light that the mountains and dry air create here with spectacular sunsets and towering thunderhead clouds.

Spring News

Muskogee, a young stallion living in the McCollough Peaks herd management area of Wyoming. I recently spent time in this area and captured this young bachelor dashing from the waterhole. Spending time on our public lands with these iconic animals is a form of pure inspiration for me. Horses are great teachers and healers; I learn so much about them and myself by observing them in their natural habitat. This image recently won an honorable mention in the International Color Awards along with several other images receiving nominations. I am truly honored.

South East Center for Photography Fauna Group Show

I am honored to have my image Epico, a 5 time gold medal champion Lusitano stallion, featured in the show Fauna juried by Carol Erb. We live with animals daily - wildlife, farmed, caged or free, many are our best friends, some we fear, yet others we admire. The show celebrates animals whether they walk, fly, crawl, slither or swim.

This show includes an image of my horse Glacier Point who is an off the track thoroughbred and grandson of Secretariat. He is 25 still full of vigor ,if there are any shenanigans going on at the barn he is usually involved if it involves running depending on his confidence and who is involved! He is more careful now that he is older~ just being smart.

Stunning Snowmass remodel in Mountain Living Magazine

This beautiful 5,500 square-foot Snowmass Divide home was originally designed and built in 1990, in the style of Greene and Greene Architects.

For the remodel, the client wanted a contemporary look—but understood the need to work with the existing architecture, which included lots of exposed woodwork and stone. Large round corner beads, wood wainscoting and heavy drywall texture all screamed 1990’s traditional mountain style.

I am honored that this client chose to live with my work in their home. The project turned out just stunning.
