Wild horses live in herds and within the herd, families. A herd of wild horses consists of one or two stallions, a group of mares, and their foals. The leader of the herd is usually an older mare (the “alpha mare”), even though one stallion owns the herd. She maintains her dominant role even though she may be physically weaker than the others. The older mare has had more experiences, more close encounters, and survived more threats than any other horse in the herd. The requirement of the lead horse is not strength or size; if this were so, then humans could never dominate a horse. Dominance is established not only through aggression but also through attitudes that let the other horses know she expects to be obeyed.

Paper

All images are printed on heavyweight museum quality archival cotton rag photo paper with archival pigment inks.

The image is printed with a 1” - 2" white border depending on image size and signed by the artist. If you prefer no border or a mat for framing please contact the shop for a custom order.

Edition sizes are listed in each artwork’s product description.

Frames are exquisitely handmade of fine hardwoods (Ash and Maple). Depending on the frame size, they have a 1/2" - 3/4" face and 1 1/4" - 2 1/4" frame depth. Please contact before ordering if you need to know exact size if fitting a tight space. There are three finish options: Solid White, Solid Black or Dark Walnut. Pieces are framed with 99% UV Plexi and framed in a style where the print is set to the back of the frame with a spacer between the print and the plexi-glass.

***Please note - If you will be hanging your art in a space with a lot of light and reflection, we recommend you upgrade the plexi to Optium Museum Acrylic anti-reflective. Please contact the artist if you would like to have this option as it is quite a bit more expensive.

Prints ship within 14 days. Framed pieces require a lead time of 4-6 weeks.

Note: Framed prints are only available for delivery to the USA. International shipping is available for unframed prints.

All images come with a signature card to place after framing.

Return Policy- All prints are custom printed and framed on a per order basis just for you on and are not returnable unless damaged in transit. Documentation of any damage can be sent through our contact form. Items that are damaged in shipping will be reprinted and/or framed. Allow 2 weeks for a print and 4 -6 weeks for a framed replacement.

Acrylic and Aluminum Artworks

Aluminum prints with white or black float frame or a plexiglass acrylic face mounted print can be ordered, both offer a fresh, clean contemporary look. Please inquire for a custom quote.
